Music Together® Mixed-Age: This classic Music Together class is designed for infants through kindergarteners. Parents or caregivers attend with their children, fostering a close bond between each other and fostering a sense of community.
Music Together Babies: Designed for children under eight months old, our babies class offers an opportunity for parents and caregivers to learn about the importance of music for infants and provides a great opportunity to meet parents of other babies.
In Music Together Generations classes, teachers and families foster meaningful musical relationships across the ages, as "Musical Grandfriends" join the music-making circle. Expanding the class community in this way enriches the experience for families and makes these classes some of the most satisfying to teach.
Rhythm Kids K-2
Rhythm Kids K-2: An exciting music, movement, and drumming class for children in Kindergarten through second grade (ages 5 through 8). Children integrate and assimilate rhythm into their lives. Rhythm Kids follows through on the Music Together vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age 8.
Free classes so families can see what Music Together® is all about!
Children learn through play and too often their lives are scripted and structured in ways that squash their ability to "teach themselves." Our Play Shops for children ages 5-9 are designed to re-introduce the idea of imaginative and cooperative play to children and their families. Each week we will explore our imaginations and relationships through improvisation, cooperative games and theatre play. Depending on the interest of the participants, music and dance may be included. This program is offered in collaboration with Ellington Youth Services.
Theater for All Ages
In cooperation with Ellington Youth Services and Ellington Parks and Recreation, Arts from the Heart invites families to participate in the presentation of a musical theater production during the summer months. Children who will be entering the 1st grade in the fall, their older siblings and even their parents are invited to participate in the production of the show. Whether you love acting, singing, painting, sewing, stage production, lighting, music or set construction, there is some way for everyone in the family to contribute. The summer 2017 will be "Annie."
Wear your pajamas to this class where we will sing along to some wonderful stories.
Private Music Lessons
Private Lessons are available for piano, voice, violin and flute at all levels. Private lessons will be held at the Ellington Studio at 12 Main Street. Lessons will be available most afternoons and in the morning when the studio space is available.
12 Months of Music and Love
Each month we will come together as a community to sing, dance and share! Donations will be collected each month for a different charity that works to make life better for children and families. If you have a favorite charity, please let us know! Some months we will invite you to come early to prepare donations (i.e. toiletry kits for a homeless shelter), other months we may take our music making out into the community (i.e. Senior Living) to share the joy.
Teacher Training Demo
Music Together hosts Teacher Training weekends periodically throughout the year. During these trainings, three demo classes are held to help the student teachers learn about Music Together and observe a class with actual families.
